OrthoFrame

Effective Date: 24 June 2026

Perfect Paradox Ltd ("we", "us", "our") Registered in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom — Company Number NI739317 Registered Address: 36 Manse Gate, Newtownards, BT23 4DG, Northern Ireland ICO Registration: C1898593

The Short Version

1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms of Sale and Service ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of OrthoFrame (the "App") sold via https://perfectparadox.co.uk. By starting a trial, buying a licence, or using the App, you agree to these Terms, our End User Licence Agreement ("EULA"), and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not buy or use the App.

Use of the App itself is governed primarily by the EULA; these Terms cover the commercial relationship — purchase, billing, refunds, support, and updates.

2. What OrthoFrame Is (and Isn't)

OrthoFrame is a native macOS application for organising clinical orthodontic photography — sorting patient photos into ABO record sheets. It runs entirely on your Mac and requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

3. Patient Data and Your Responsibilities as a Clinician

3.1 Who Controls Patient Data

The photographs OrthoFrame helps you organise are your patients' personal data, and may relate to their health (special-category data under Article 9 UK/EU GDPR). Because that data never leaves your Mac and we never receive, transmit, or store it, you (the dentist or clinic) are the data controller for your patients' data. You are responsible for your own obligations to your patients under UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and applicable law — including establishing a lawful basis, obtaining any required consent, setting retention periods, and securing the device on which the data lives.

OrthoFrame is a local tool you run on your own equipment. It is not a cloud processor acting on your behalf, because nothing is transmitted to us. We cannot access, recover, or delete your patients' data — only you can.

3.2 How OrthoFrame Helps You Meet Those Obligations

OrthoFrame includes features designed to support your privacy and data-protection duties:

We recommend you enable macOS FileVault and maintain your own backups. The security of your Mac and your patient records is your responsibility.

4. Purchase — Paddle as Merchant of Record

4.1 Who You Buy From

All purchases are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd, UK, or its affiliate Paddle Payments Ltd, depending on your region). Paddle is the Merchant of Record: it is the authorised reseller of the App, the seller named on your invoice, and the party that charges your payment method.

This means:

(a) Your transaction is also subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms: https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms (b) Paddle calculates, collects, and remits VAT / sales tax for your jurisdiction. The price shown at checkout includes any applicable tax (or shows it separately, depending on your region). (c) Paddle issues your invoice/receipt and handles payment disputes, chargebacks, and refunds for the transaction. (d) Paddle collects your name, email, billing address/country, and payment details at checkout. We never see or store your card details. Paddle shares your email, country, and order details with us so we can deliver your licence and provide support. (e) We (Perfect Paradox Ltd) remain the developer and licensor of the App: the licence you receive, the software itself, updates, and support all come from us under the EULA and these Terms.

4.2 Tiers and Price

OrthoFrame is offered as a one-time purchase in two tiers:

TierPrice (USD, one-time)
Normal$99
Pro$179

Each price is a single, one-time payment that grants a perpetual licence — there is no recurring billing and nothing to renew. Prices may be displayed in your local currency at checkout via Paddle. We may change pricing for future purchases at any time; a price change never affects a licence you have already bought.

4.3 Your Licence — Perpetual

Your purchase grants a perpetual licence: it is yours forever. The licence is delivered as an offline licence key bound to the product. It does not expire, does not lapse, and is never auto-renewed — your payment method is charged once and never again. Because the App is offline, it does not phone home, does not initiate billing, and there is no recurring subscription of any kind. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

4.4 One Year of Updates Included

Your purchase includes one year of updates from the date of purchase — all maintenance releases and improvements we ship within that year are yours at no extra cost. After that year, the App keeps working forever, exactly as it is. You simply stop receiving new versions; nothing is disabled, nothing pauses, and your licence remains valid in perpetuity. If we later release a major new version, we may offer it as a separate paid upgrade — but you are never required to buy it to keep using the App you already own.

4.5 Upgrading from Normal to Pro

You can upgrade from the Normal tier to the Pro tier at any time by paying the difference in price — a one-time $80. The Pro features unlock once the upgraded licence is applied, and the upgraded licence is likewise perpetual.

4.6 Licence Delivery

After successful payment, your licence key is delivered by email to the address you provide at checkout, normally within minutes. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder and then contact info@perfectparadox.co.uk — we can always recover your key from your order email address.

5. Free Trial

You can evaluate the App free for 14 days, with every feature unlocked and no card required. The trial is fully functional so you know exactly what you are paying for before you commit.

When the trial ends, the App does not stop working: it drops to the Normal tier unless you enter a licence key. To use Pro features, buy a licence and enter your key. After the trial, the unlicensed app runs with Normal-tier features.

6. Your Data Is Always Yours

Because your licence is perpetual, the App keeps working for as long as you want to use it. In every case — whether or not you ever buy a future major version:

We will never hold your patients' records hostage. Your clinical data lives only on your Mac, it is yours, and it stays yours.

7. Refunds

7.1 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you are not happy with the App, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase — no justification required. Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, refunds are issued by Paddle:

(a) The fastest route: reply to your Paddle receipt email or use the link in it, or contact Paddle directly via its buyer help portal at https://paddle.net (b) Or email us at info@perfectparadox.co.uk and we will instruct Paddle to refund you.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Once refunded, your licence key is deactivated. Because a fully unlocked 14-day trial exists, you can thoroughly evaluate the App before paying anything.

7.2 After 14 Days

Refunds after 14 days are at our discretion, but if the App genuinely doesn't work on your supported system and we can't fix it, we will refund you — we don't want your money for software you can't use.

7.3 Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have statutory rights regarding digital content (including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015) that these Terms do not limit. Note that the free trial exists precisely so you can test the App before committing.

7.4 Abuse

We and Paddle reserve the right to refuse refunds in cases of demonstrable abuse (e.g., repeated buy-refund cycles, refund requests after key sharing).

8. Support

We provide support by email at info@perfectparadox.co.uk. We are a small independent company, and we aim to respond within 2 business days (usually much faster). Support covers installation, activation, licence recovery, and bugs in the App. It does not cover general macOS troubleshooting, clinical or data-protection advice, custom feature development, or third-party software.

There is no phone support and no guaranteed SLA — in exchange, you get answers from the people who actually built the App.

9. Updates and Future Versions

9.1 Updates Included for One Year

Your purchase includes one year of updates from the date of purchase, at no extra cost. The updater framework is present in the App but automatic update checks are off by default — the App does not phone home for updates. You may check for updates manually, and updates are never installed without your action. After your year of updates ends, the App continues to work in perpetuity on the last version available to you; you simply stop receiving new releases.

9.2 Availability of Updates

We intend to actively maintain the App, but your purchase does not constitute a promise of specific future features or compatibility with future macOS versions beyond those supported at the time. If we later ship a major new version, we may offer it as a separate paid upgrade. If we discontinue the App, we will use reasonable efforts to keep licence reactivation working or provide an offline activation path, and — consistent with Section 6 — your existing patient data on your Mac always remains accessible to you and your perpetual licence keeps working.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App or https://perfectparadox.co.uk to violate any law, infringe third-party rights, or attempt to compromise our systems, the licensing service, or Paddle's checkout. Licence key sharing or resale is a breach of the EULA and these Terms. You are solely responsible for using the App lawfully in connection with your patients' data, including obtaining any consents required for the photographs you process.

11. Intellectual Property and Licence

The App is licensed, not sold. © 2026 Perfect Paradox Ltd (NI739317). All intellectual property rights in the App remain ours. Your licence is a personal, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App under a proprietary EULA. One licence per user; a single user licence may be activated on any Macs you personally own or control, with no fixed device limit, provided all use is by you, the single licensed user. You may not copy (except as needed to run the App), modify, reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App or any licence key. Your patient photos and library content are yours; we claim no rights over them.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

THE APP IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND PERFORMS NO DIAGNOSIS OR MEASUREMENT. IT MUST NOT BE RELIED UPON FOR ANY CLINICAL, DIAGNOSTIC, OR TREATMENT DECISION. ALL CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PATIENTS REMAINS WITH YOU, THE TREATING DENTIST.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENCE, AND WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of Northern Ireland or the United Kingdom — and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms or the EULA (e.g., key distribution, cracking, fraud) and fail to remedy the breach within fourteen (14) days of notice. Absent such a breach, your perpetual licence does not end — it is yours to keep. In every case, your patient data is unaffected: it lives on your Mac, not with us, and remains accessible to you for export as described in Section 6.

14. General

(a) Entire Agreement. These Terms, the EULA, the Privacy Policy, and (for the purchase transaction) Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms constitute the entire agreement regarding the App. (b) Changes. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted at https://perfectparadox.co.uk at least thirty (30) days before taking effect and apply to purchases made after the effective date. (c) Severability. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remains in effect. (d) Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of the business. (e) Force Majeure. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland and, where applicable, the United Kingdom. The courts of Northern Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers retain any right to bring proceedings in their country of residence and any mandatory statutory protections of that country. Payment disputes relating to the checkout transaction may also be governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Before going to court, talk to us — info@perfectparadox.co.uk. Almost everything can be resolved by email.
